Fábio Barata

Fábio Barata is a multimedia designer with a master’s degree in Design and Multimedia from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Coimbra. His primary focus has been Typography and the particularities of its behaviours in different media. His interest in these topics led him to perform in-depth research on the subject for his master’s thesis, «Digitally Analog Typography». For the project, a study was conducted that reflected on the role of analogue methods and/or tools in the current context of typographic production. It further explored its relations with the digital and the possibilities of hybrid systems. He is very enthusiastic about bending the boundaries between different techniques and practices toward innovative design forms.
