Ana Boavida

Ana Boavida is a graphic designer, researcher and educator. With a degree in Fine Arts and a Phd in Contemporary Art / Book Cover Design

Ana has worked at the design firm FBA since the year 2000, where she is currently a partner and senior designer. Her work is better known in the field of book and book cover design, but in the course of her tenure at FBA she has been responsible for several projects in fields ranging from visual identity programmes to exhibition design, developed for a wide variety of clients, including publishing houses, museums and cultural organisations in Portugal, USA and the UK.

Ana’s work has been repeatedly acclaimed and acknowledged with several of the most prestigious international design honours, including the European Design Awards, the American Institute of Graphic Arts 50 books/50 covers awards, The Red Dot Award and Communication Arts Excellence in Illustration as well as Typography Awards. Her work has been included in several international design publications and reference graphic design teaching textbooks.
